So the chances are that if you’re playing bingo online, you’re playing bingo at home at your pc ( read laptop in my case! ) - which is all well and good!
However, I have found that to really maximise the enjoyment of my home playing, a little bit of planning and effort goes a long way to ensuring that my Thursday night bingo fest ( as it is affectionately known ) goes well!

Firstly - unplug the house phone, and keep your mobile by your side! There’s nothing worse than when you’ve just told everyone you have 1tg and the bloody house phone starts to ring incessently - I have a weird psycological hang up with this whereby I can’t get it out my head that it might, just might, be an emergency, so I have to answer it - destroying the drama and suspense of my current game! And of course 9 times out of 10 its one of them pre recorded marketing messages that we all hate!
Keep the mobile by your side for two reasons - so you can see who it is thats calling and decide whether they have a high enough social standing in your network of friends to warrant answering, and also so if you do have a big win, you can immediately embark on a text campaign to everyone ( that is if you are open about your playing bingo at home habit! ).

Secondly - drink red wine! Ok, so who needs an excuse to drink? Not me thats for sure! But when i’m playing bingo at home, the excitement and mental stress ( of a good kind ) makes me thirsty, and the last thing i want to do is keep getting up to go to the fridge - which white wine requires! So by drinking red wine, the bottle can stay firmly planted on the floor next to me, so the maximum effort is a little stretch in order to refill!

Thirdly - encourage your partner to go out!! Yep you read it right! After all, one of the biggest advantages of playing bingo at home is you can enjoy your home comforts - but that shouldn’t have to include putting up with the disruption of your partner talking to you, walking through the lounge en route to the fridge, playign the tv too loud, singing…. the list goes on! So actively encourage them to go to the local!! they usually don’t need telling twice!

I happen to have a great job - I work for an online company who’s main interest is Online Bingo! So its a match made in Bingo heaven - you see I love playing bingo online, always have ( well not always, the Internet is still relatively young compared to me! ) and now I get paid to play and write about it - perfect.
But what is it I like so much about this traditional game which is now fast becoming the UK’s equivalent to Poker? To be honest, the answer is not easy.
After all, the skill in playing online isn’t massive - the lovely computer thingy even ticks off the numbers for you. Also, unless I win big soon, the chances are I won’t have a Bar built in my house, so far my local Gala Bingo hall seems a better bet!
However, and here’s the crunch, the amount of interaction with other players is far greater when playing Bingo Online. Sure, when you’re down the local hall you tend to have a bit of a gossip in between games, but you’re generally restricted to one or two people you know - online i’ve made friends in as far away places as Australia and Thailand!!!
There’s also a strange sense of comradship online - as you frantically type in 1tg the amount of well wishers is staggering!
I have also found that you get quite a few regular “faces” ( or avatars at least ) at different times of the day - so midday is popular with Mums at home and I have got to know quite a few - we even chat about the little sods at school ( i have two o
